Status kewarganegaraan ganda terbatas adalah status dwi (dua) kewarganegaraan yang diberikan kepada seorang anak hingga anak tersebut mencapai usia 18 (delapan belas) tahun, yang termasuk ke dalam kriteria tersebut adalah :
1. Pasal 4 UU Nomor 12 Tahun 2006 Tentang Kewarganegaraan RI a. Anak dari perkawinan sah ayah WNI dengan ibu WNAb. Anak dari perkawinan sah ayah WNA dengan Ibu WNI c. Anak tidak sah ibu WNA diakui oleh ayah WNI sebagai anaknya pengakuan dilakukan sebelum 18 tahun/belum nikah d. Anak lahir diluar wilayah Indonesia dari ayah dan ibu WNI dimana Negara tempat lahir memberikan kewarganegaraan kepada anak tersebut
2. Pasal 5 UU Nomor 12 Tahun 2006 Tentang Kewarganegaraan RI a. Anak tidak sah diakui secara sah oleh ayah WNA sebelum 18 tahun dan belum nikahb. Anak WNI belum berusia 5 tahun diangkat sebagai anak sah oleh WNA berdasarkan ketetapan pengadilan - Dalam hal status kewarganegaran Indonesia pada pasal 4 huruf C,D, H dan L dan pasal 5 berakibat Kewarganegaraan ganda maka setelah 18 tahun /sudah nikah harus memilih salah satu kewarganegaran. - Pernyataan tersebut disampaikan paling lambat 3 tahun setelah 18 tahun /nikah.
1. Kartu tanda penduduk yang masih berlaku atau surat keterangan pindah ke luar negeri;
2. Kartu keluarga;
3. Akta kelahiran, akta perkawinan atau buku nikah, ijazah, atau surat baptis; (dalam dokumen harus tercantum nama, tempat dan tanggal lahir, nama orang tua, jika tidak tercantum, pemohon dapat melampirkan surat keterangan dari instansi yang berwenang);
4. Surat pewarganegaraan Indonesia bagi Orang Asing yang memperoleh kewarganegaraan Indonesia melalui atau penyampaian untuk memilih kewarganegaraan sesuai dengan ketentuan perundangundangan;
5. Surat penetapan ganti nama dari pejabat yang berwenang bagi yang telah mengganti nama.
Penyesuaian di bidang peraturan keimigrasian 1. Bagi anak subyek Ganda terbatas yang lahir sebelum 01 Agustus 2006
Belum melakukan pendaftaran tetap harus memiliki izin keimigrasian, penyelesainnya cukup di Kantor imigrasi setempat. Telah melakukan pendaftaran maka orang tua/wali melaporkan :

1. Pemeriksaan kelengkapan dan keabsahan persyaratan 2. Pembayaran biaya Paspor 3. Pengambilan foto dan sidik jari 4. Wawancara 5. Verifikasi 6. Adjudikasi
1. Paspor biasa 48 halaman Rp350.000 2. Paspor biasa 48 halaman elektronik Rp650.000 3. Layanan percepatan paspor selesai pada hari yang sama Rp1.000.000 (layanan percepatan di luar biaya penerbitan Paspor).
